Happy Holidays! ... and please pass the gravy.

Well, it's sure been a while folks. But it's a busy time with the holidays upon us: shopping, visiting, eating, cooking, seeing family, eating, trying not to smash your car looking for a parking spot, eating ....

Did I mention eating? I've been thinking a lot about all the good stuff put before us at the family tables during this time. I don't know about you, but where I'm at with my hep C , certain foods can effect the way I feel. For instance, when I eat french fries, or deep-fried chicken (you know what I'm talking about ... that really awesome crunchy kind), or a bunch of yummy drippy bacon, I can pretty much guarantee myself a bout of fatigue for the rest of that day. Extra fats (with the bad kind of cholesterol in 'em) are processed by the liver, and face it: ours are already working overtime.

On the other hand, there are foods that are pretty good for those of us living with hep C; even some that contain hepatic protectors, or foods that help to protect the liver. Such as:
  • pomegranite juice
  • reiki & shitake mushrooms
  • beets, and pretty much any "root" veggie.
  • ginger root
  • dandelion root tea

Of course there's more, but that's all I have time for this sec - gotta get to another relative's for dinner tonight.

In the meantime, please take care of yourself and if ya got hep C, and want the straight up, go to Hep C Straightup.

Happy Holidays!
